I think I should start noting when I've read a good book. Who knows, I might want it later.

Looking for Alaska by John Green - A good book. Not great, but certainly one you can read in a sitting. My favourite bits actually involved the religion teacher. The essay at the end was nice. A good young lit book, I think.

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. This was a fantastic read for me. A story about love and life first and foremost - and I'm glad the author is both a woman and a storyteller - I was given a bit of insight into those unknowables for men. The 'catch' of the book as it were is that her husband time travels. The book proceeds, more or less, with real time chronological order of the two main characters, but the husband hops around. He can visit older, younger...even when he's not alive. This book must have been quite a doozy to write. It'd be easy to make mistakes about what the character could 'know' at any given moment. I'd be interested in knowing the 'how' of that one - what mechanism did the author use to help her write. Anyways, I really enjoyed this book. Part of it was that sans the supernatural escapades, I could see my friends transposed into this life and it gave me a sense of...comfort? I suppose. Hard to explain, but good warm fuzzy feelings. :)
