Current Music: Peanut Recipes ala Food TV

Yes, lordsoftherhymes.com is hilarious. I haven't listened to the music yet, but the mere idea is enough to keep me amused. I have to do homework before I get to do anything fun, like RP. (I wanna.) Bri said she'd cook for me while I do homework, instead, I'm doing this. Please let me eat, honey.

Homework consists of 2 papers. Weehaw. I don't have to get the second one done tonight, but I want to. I will at least start. (first is my response to Beethoven’s 5th, second is affectionately so far titled Exposing Security Vulnerabilities)

Today I also got a cancelled class. (yesterday there were 2 of them. ;) What came of this: Nothing! You'd think I was unproductive or something. But I got lots of sleep, so if nothing else, I'll be up all night doing above. This will then clear the *rest* of the week to begin to work on my macro pre-processor which I need to get 120% on. (the extra 20% comes from the fact that adding recursive macros nets us extra credit.) Shouldn't be *too* hard, but it will be if I do what I did with the assembler and try to do it in one week, mostly one weekend. Note, I didn't get that done...did get a 50% on it, which currently lets my grade hover at around a C. Annnnyways.

Monday I'm taking my car in to get lubed, oiled, and filtered, as well as poked at. I should have money to pay for it by then. I hope. Otherwise I'll beg g'pa....my job is *STILL* considering me, I've called...I want it -so- bad.

I need money now. Yesterday. Before then. *lesigh* My mother keeps saying I should go get unemployment. I just..refuse. Is that stupid of me?

I should redo / fix up my resume. Any resume wizards out there who want to take a look (when I get it fixed up to my expectations) and suggest things? :)

Added the one decent Hawaii grad school CS stuff I could find to my list of places to check out in more detail later...unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have the sorts of things I want. But it's *Hawaii*. :) Still kinda confused as to costs and how the whole thing works. Those of you in grad school or who got through it wanna clue me in to what fellowships, assistantships, researchships, etc...are...and how the whole shebang works? I come from a laid back non-big school. I'm on a first name basis with the head of financial aid (Teresa), the business office (Linda!), all my teachers except maybe Murray cause he's strange.... Practically everyone but the president... So all of this is all scary.

And on this note, onto the homework paper-writing. Just remember, road construction sucks ass.

I was on a first-name basis with the president :)

At IUPUI we have out own financial aid people (Jose and JC) who do all the work for us. You can still get Staffords (I need to do my FAFSA yet), and a lot of times the school will have fellowships/scholarships.

and again i remind you: YES i'd like to help you with your resume. :)

and speaking of grad school money, let's put it this way: if you go to grad school in science and engineering, you shouldn't go unless they pay you. your entire tuition should be covered plus a stipend to live on (that being in the form of a teaching or research assistantship). my advice: research the schools, apply to ones that do research in what interests you. then visit as many as you can, and go to the school whose community feels most "right". then you will be happy.
